The route takes you through Finland's two largest ski resorts, Levi and Ylläs, and onward into the breathtaking fell landscapes of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. From there, the journey continues into the remote Pöyrisjärvi Wilderness Area, famous for its unique sand dunes and untouched Arctic scenery, before crossing into the vast highlands of Finnmark in Northern Norway.

You'll ride along some of Lapland's most scenic singletrack and doubletrack trails, The terrain is partly physically and technically demanding, but every challenge is rewarded with constantly changing landscapes, open fells, pristine nature, and unforgettable views.

What to expect

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 0 - Arrival in Levi

Arrive in Levi via Kittilä or Rovaniemi Airport, or independently by train (Kolari/Rovaniemi). Transfers to accommodation are arranged.
In the afternoon, we meet for a welcome briefing covering the week's routes, safety, schedules, and logistics. Bikes are fitted and final preparations made. The day ends with a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 1 - Levi to Ylläs

The adventure begins with relaxed riding on forest gravel trails near Kätkätunturi and Pyhätunturi. Terrain becomes more demanding in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, followed by gravel riding towards Ylläs. The day finishes with a rewarding climb to Kukastunturi, offering stunning fell views.
Evening sauna and dinner at a traditional Lapland accommodation.

Day 2 - Äkäslompolo to Jerisjärvi

A varied day with singletrack, doubletrack, gravel, and paved sections. We visit a Sámi sacred site (Side stone) and ride through beautiful fell terrain towards Äkäsjärvi, before a fast approach to Lake Jerisjärvi.
Evening includes Arctic sauna world and a special visit to an authentic Lapland shaman, with ritual and dinner.

Day 3 - Jerisjärvi to Raattama (Pallas-Yllästunturi NP)

A highlight day in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. We climb to Mustavaara and continue toward The Magic Box, Finland's highest fell. Expect technical sections, bike carrying in places, and some of the best views in the country.
Fast descents lead us to Vuontisjärvi and onward to accommodation.

Day 4 - Raattama to Hetta

A physically and technically demanding day through open highlands. From Lake Hietajärvi, we ride towards treeless fell terrain and climb Sanctuary (771 m). Long descents bring us to Lake Ounasjärvi, which we cross by boat to the village of Hetta.
Sauna, dinner, and overnight in the church village.

Day 5 - Hetta to Kautokeino (NOR)

We start from the Sámi village of Näkkälä and ride into the remote Pöyrisjärvi Wilderness Area, famous for its sand ridges, fell ponds, and Arctic silence. The route follows the historic postal road, crossing the border into Norway.
Support vehicle meets us before transfer to Cautious for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - Kautokeino to Jotka Fjellstue

After a short transfer to Masi, the day features flowing and technical singletrack with more descending than climbing. The landscapes open to Norwegian mountains and highland wilderness.
Overnight at Jotka Fjellstue, an atmospheric historic lodge on the old postal route, with sauna and excellent local food.

Day 7 - Jotka Fjellstue to Alta

Our final riding day begins in remote Norwegian wilderness. A challenging climb rewards us with views towards snow-capped mountains, lakes, and the Arctic Ocean. Fast descents lead through old mining areas and onward to the journey's end near Alta.

Day 8 - Return day

After a well-earned breakfast, we review the highlights of the journey. Transfers are provided to Kittilä or Rovaniemi Airport, or you may choose to continue your travels from Alta Airport.
