Experience the magic of Lapland’s late summer nights on a peaceful canoeing tour under the Night Sky. As the evenings begin to darken in August and September, you’ll paddle along the gently flowing Ounasjoki River — Finland’s longest free-flowing river — surrounded by quiet forests, soft twilight, and star-filled skies.

The tour begins with a short transfer from Levi to Tonttula (Elves Village), where your guide provides a safety briefing and paddling instructions before we set off onto the river. As we glide through the calm landscape, the sky gradually darkens, revealing countless stars above.

With a bit of luck, you may witness the Northern Lights dancing across the sky — and reflecting softly on the water as you paddle beneath them.

Midway, we stop by the riverside to enjoy a warm drink and light snack, taking time to relax and observe the night sky. Your guide shares stories about Lapland, nature, and the mystery of the Aurora Borealis.

This experience is about stillness, atmosphere, and connection with nature — a unique way to experience Lapland under the stars. After the tour, we return comfortably to Levi by transfer.

What do I need to bring?

Wind- and waterproof clothing, change of clothes. Please remember to bring insect repellant with you too!
