Discover the quiet beauty of Lapland on this scenic gravel cycling adventure in Kittilä, a perfect experience for riders who love freedom, open landscapes, and smooth forest roads. This 35–55 km circular route combines history, nature, and relaxed adventure in one unforgettable ride.

Gravel cycling is all about effortless flow and exploration — riding lightweight bikes on quiet gravel roads, forest tracks, and scenic backcountry routes. It offers the perfect balance between road cycling and mountain biking: smooth, enjoyable riding with the freedom to go far beyond the beaten path.

Our journey begins at the historic Kittilä Church, designed by Carl Ludvig Engel in 1831. From here, we pedal into peaceful surroundings, following winding forest roads through pine forests and open landscapes where traffic disappears and nature takes over.

As the route gently climbs toward Isovaara Hill, the scenery opens up to breathtaking views of Aakenustunturi and Ylläs fells. The ride is unhurried and adaptable, with a pace that allows you to fully enjoy the silence, fresh air, and wide northern horizons.

Midway, we stop at a traditional wilderness hut for a cozy campfire break. Enjoy warm snacks by the fire while your guide shares stories about local life, Sámi culture, and the unique nature of Lapland.

After the break, we continue along quiet gravel roads and scenic trails, surrounded by some of the cleanest air in the world. Before returning, we cycle through the charming Kittilä village, with a chance to stop at local shops and experience everyday life in the North.

The route length (35–55 km) is tailored to the group’s preferences, making this tour suitable for both relaxed explorers and more active riders.

With transfers included from Levi, this gravel adventure offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and flowing cycling — a true Lapland experience on two wheels.

Please note

This is an outdoor activity, please be sure you are properly dressed (wind and water proof, sun protection). The trip requires normal physical condition. Bring your own bike or let us know beforehand and we'll rent one for additional cost.

This trip is arranged if minimum 4 participants is filled. For smaller groups we can edit the offering.

What do I need to bring?

Wind and waterproof clothing. Sunglasses. Water bottle. Insect repellent and sunblock, if needed.

• We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 14 days or less before the event
• We will charge a cancellation fee of 30% if booking is cancelled 30 days or less before the event
