Discover the peaceful beauty of Lapland’s summer nights on this unforgettable canoeing experience under the Midnight Sun. As the world quiets down and the sky glows with soft golden light, you’ll paddle along the gently flowing waters of the Ounasjoki – Finland’s longest free-flowing river.

The tour begins with a short transfer from Levi to the village of Köngäs. There, at the atmospheric Tonttula (Elves Village), we launch the canoes onto the river. Your experienced local guide will then introduce you to basic canoeing techniques and safety. Once on the water, you’ll glide through a landscape of serene forests, open skies, and quiet riverbanks. The soft light of the Midnight Sun paints the scenery in magical tones, offering a truly unique Arctic summer experience.

As you paddle, your guide will share insights into the surrounding nature, local traditions, and the special relationship people in the North have with their natural environment. Halfway through the tour, we’ll pause for a light snack by the riverside – and on warm evenings, you’re welcome to take a refreshing dip in the clean, clear water of the Ounasjoki.

This evening trip is not about speed – it’s about the peaceful rhythm of paddling, the glowing northern light, and a sense of connection to nature that stays with you long after the tour ends. At the end of the journey, a transfer will take you comfortably back to Levi.
